About Lamborghini

Ferruccio Lamborghini, who had built a successful tractor business, founded Automobili Lamborghini in 1963 at Sant'Agata Bolognese, near Bologna. The 350 GT was its first car, but it was the mid-engined Miura of 1966 and the dramatic Countach of 1974 that established the brand's reputation for extreme design and performance. The raging bull badge reflects Ferruccio Lamborghini's interest in bullfighting, and many models are named after famous bulls.

After financial difficulties and several owners, Lamborghini was bought by Audi in 1998 and is now part of the Volkswagen Group. Under that ownership it introduced the Gallardo and Huracán, and the Urus SUV became its best-selling model. Lamborghini has now moved its entire range to hybrid power: the Revuelto uses a V12 plug-in hybrid system, the Temerario a twin-turbo V8 hybrid, and the Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid SUV. A fully electric model is planned but has been pushed back.

Lamborghini on a car subscription

Lamborghini subscriptions are offered mainly by prestige and supercar specialists rather than mainstream providers, and terms are usually shorter and stricter. They suit people who want a supercar for a special period, such as a summer, without buying one. Expect substantial deposits, detailed insurance and identity checks, minimum age and experience requirements, and low mileage allowances. Check how the car is delivered, stored and secured, and what happens if it is damaged.

What insurance checks apply to a Lamborghini subscription?

Providers usually require a minimum age, several years of driving experience and a clean licence, and the insurance excess can be substantial. Some may ask about secure parking.
